Swiss Landscape from Lidar Data - Heightmap and Weightmaps for Unreal Engine 5
This free set of files accompanies my tutorial series about creation of the landscape in Unreal Engine 5 using real world lidar data.
These maps are results of the first two tutorials (heightmap and weightmaps creation). So with these files you can jump right to the third tutorial that will walk you through the creation of the landscape material: https://youtu.be/Akt72LNHVD8
While the image on the background represents the actual landscape in Unreal Engine 5, the landscape textures and material ARE NOT included in the free version, only the heightmap and weightmaps. To recreate the material, please follow the aforementioned tutorial.
Or you can purchase the version with the actual Unreal Engine 5.1 project files (also can be used in UE5.2 and UE5.3).
The free version includes:
- 1 heightmap file (4033x4033)
- 5 weightmaps files (4033x4033) for the dirt, rock, gravel, forest and snow layers
The paid version includes:
- Content of the free version
- 8kmx8km landscape from the lidar data of Swiss Alps
- 6 material layers (dirt, grass, forest, gravel, rock, snow)
- Rich material customization: tint, brightness, saturation, normals intensity, wetness, tiling near and far from the camera separate for each material layer
- Easy setup for wetness
- Additional colorization with separate function (see grass layer for example)
- For rock and gravel material layers displacement settings are available.
- Rock and gravel layers are world aligned
- Settings for changing near/far distance
- All the layers are derivative of the generic layer, which makes creation of the new layers very easy
- Landscape material has also setup for auto material and RVT. In this particular case they are not used, so all not connected nodes can be deleted (please watch the tutorial for more details)
- Texture Resolutions: 4096 (landscape textures), 2048 (noise masks) and 16 (utility default textures)
